With the aim of supporting recovery efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake, I was an early member of the team that launched the Tohoku Medical Megabank Project, one of Japan's largest biobanks. There, I contributed to establishing the infrastructure for collecting samples and information from residents of the affected areas, as well as to measuring and analyzing genome and omics data (Nature 2022; Lancet Healthy Longev 2023; Eur Heart J 2024; Alzheimers Dement 2025). In 2017, I founded Genome Analytics Japan Inc. to pursue the realization of personalized medicine based on genome and omics data, through human genome research and system development.
